Realigning incentives around public goods
Sustainable funding for public goods will soon become a reality for society. We are building a library of modular components that can be used to create incentive alignment, continuous funding, and peer governance to sustain communities, acting as open platform cooperatives, in the provision of public goods. This library of open-source, interoperable Web 3 tools will give communities a sociotechnical ‘nervous system’ to raise and allocate shared funds, make transparent decisions, and monitor their progress towards shared goals.
The Commons Stack is a joint initiative between Giveth and BlockScience, with decades of expertise in multi-agent coordination, complex systems thinking and the blockchain non-profit space. The output is a modular library of tested, token engineered components that can be modeled, customized, and implemented to solve common challenges of distributed coordination. Along the way, we aim to establish token engineering as a rigorous design, simulation and modelling process, incorporating decades of research in estimation & signal processing, control theory, swarm robotics, complexity economics, and more.
We want to create a world where public goods are valued fairly for the benefits they deliver, instead of being exploited and exposed to the tragedy of the commons. Join us!
